Think Again About Stevia

I really have used, a lot of stevia, in all forms. I stopped when I noticed my major lung problem stopped when I didn't have my daily diet drink that Coke came out with. So then I began to look up the side effect. I noticed I needed more calcium, had heart problems and made my asthma worse with attacks at night. I stopper and I'm getting so much better. If you have some of the cautions in this post stop till symptoms are gone. Take more and see if it returns. I won't do that I had sever renal failure.
Leaves of the stevia plant used to make a sugar substitute.

RE: Credit: Stevia plant and powder via Shutterstock (Remember in a bleached powder form it is a chemical, not a natural product anymore.)
Stevia is perhaps unique among food ingredients because it's most valued for what it doesn't do. It doesn't add calories. Unlike other sugar substitutes, stevia is derived from a plant.
The stevia plant is part of the Asteraceae family, related to the daisy and ragweed. Several stevia species called "candyleaf" are native to New Mexico, Arizona and Texas.
But the prized species, Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni), grows in Paraguay and Brazil, where people have used leaves from the stevia bush to sweeten food for hundreds of years. In traditional medicine in these regions, stevia also served as a treatment for burns, colic, stomach problems and sometimes as a contraceptive.

Today, stevia is part of the sugar substitute market.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates Americans added more sugar to their diet every year since the 1970s until 2000. When Americans dropped the added sugar, they turned to sugar like extracts. The sugar substitute market was estimated to be worth $10.5 billion in 2012, according an analysis by Markets and Markets research firm.
And the market may be growing. Just 18 percent of U.S. adults used low- or no-calorie sweeteners in 2000. Now, 24 percent of adults and 12 percent of children use the sugar substitutes, according to a 2012 review in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. [9 Snack Foods: Healthy or Not?]
Does stevia work?
Stevia has no calories, but it is 200 times sweeter than sugar in the same concentration. Other studies suggest stevia might have extra health benefits.
"Available research is promising for the use of stevia in hypertension," said Catherine Ulbricht, senior pharmacist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and co-founder of Natural Standard Research Collaboration, which reviews evidence on herbs and supplements. Ulbricht said Natural Standard gave stevia a "grade B for efficacy" in lowering blood pressure. Other studies suggest stevia could benefit people with Type 2 diabetes, but Ulbricht says more research is needed.
A no-calorie source of sweetness is an obvious diet solution in theory. But a few studies show that replacing sugar with artificial or low-calorie sweeteners may not ultimately lead to weight loss in real life.
A 2004 study in rats found low-calorie sweeteners led the animals to overeat, possibly because of a mismatch between the perceived sweetness and the expected calories from sugar, according to the paper in the International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders.

The author of that study later argued that people who use artificial sweeteners may suffer health problems associated with excess sugar, including metabolic syndrome, which can be a precursor to diabetes.
"A number of studies suggest people who regularly consume ASB [artificially sweetened beverages] are at increased risk compared with those that do not consume ASB," Dr. Susan E. Swithers said in a 2013 opinion letter in the journal Trends in Endocrinology and Metabolism.
Yet there is also evidence that stevia does nothing to change eating habits or hurt metabolism in the short term. A 2010 study in the journal Appetite tested several artificial sweeteners against sugar and each other in 19 lean people and 12 obese people.
The study found people did not overeat after consuming a meal made with stevia instead of sugar. Their blood sugar was lower after a meal made with stevia than after eating a meal with sugar, and eating food with stevia resulted in lower insulin levels than eating either sucrose and aspartame.
The question of whether stevia is safe to consume largely depends on what someone means by "stevia." The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved stevia leaves or "crude stevia extracts" for use as food additives. Studies on stevia in those forms raise concerns about the control of blood sugar and effects on the reproductive, cardiovascular, and renal systems, the FDA warns.
However, the FDA has allowed companies to use an isolated chemical from stevia as food additive, calling the chemical "generally recognized as safe." Now, products such as Truvia and others have the legal go-ahead to use Rebaudioside A, which is also found in stevia, in their no-calorie sweeteners. (now white, bleach and is a chemical- never use bTruvia )
But there are some health concerns surrounding the stevia plant. Stevia may cause low blood pressure, which would be of concern to some taking blood pressure medications.
"Caution is advised when using medications that may also lower blood sugar. People taking insulin or drugs for diabetes by mouth should be monitored closely by a qualified health care professional, including a pharmacist," Ulbricht said.
Stevia may also interact with anti-fungals, anti-inflammatories, anti-microbials, anti-cancer drugs, anti-virals, appetite suppressants, calcium channel blockers, cholesterol-lowering drugs, drugs that increase urination, fertility agents and other medications, Ulbricht said. People should talk with their doctor before deciding to take stevia in large amounts, she said.

What Is Hemp and Its Benefits

I like hemp and think it should be legal in all states, but not for smoking. Smoking is smoking and bad for the lungs. I've used the oil and seeds, but, cut back on the protein powder because it too much protein for the kidneys or liver to handle. Their must be a balance in, even, plant foods. However, you don't need to use the 3 scoops i.e. simply cut back on the dosage.

Eye: (If the autonomic nerve wreath in the iris is white or shows up it's time to use the calming Hemp, not the other.) see. post on iridology posts. (the star white star burst is the electric system of the body, nervous system or autonomic nerve wreath, which is not suppose to show up at all. It does indicate a major problem. (Hemp is indicated for an herb to use)

Note the differences in Hemp oil's. I buy mine from different sources. Its too much money for my budget. Vitacoast, Swanson vitamin and Amazon all have good prices and one is no shipping charges or, taxes.

http://shermsorganicnews.blogspot.com/2013/10/babyfood-homemade-wo-chemicals.html
The drug corporations will probable try and control this? It's easily gown but they will try and outlaw it as in most states. (11 states it is legal) This will be controlled as was comfrey plant and MA hung which these pharma's as they know will and can cure.

I added this in because the herbal Hemp as it is good in all ADD/ADHD kids, or nerve, brain disorders. Check it out. ( It's organic oil is also good for this disorder. )

When you change your diet and try to lose weight by reducing the food you eat, you'll probably experience sugar cravings. You might find yourself at the grocery store in the middle of the night looking for Snickers bars and bags of M&Ms, unable to resist the lure of something sweet.
We'd like to share how you can fight against those sugar cravings by using hemp protein.

Regulate Your Blood Glucose

One of the reasons why you start to crave sugar when you're on a diet is because your blood sugar isn't steady, and diet foods aren't satisfying. Eating meals filled with simple carbohydrates and sugar leaves your body wanting more too soon. Simple carbohydrates that don't provide lasting energy make it hard to resist sitting down for another bite.
Hemp seed food products offer a healthy dose of dietary fiber, which helps regulate blood glucose. When your glucose levels remain steady, you experience fewer crashes and aren't as likely to crave sugar to fill that void.

Stay Full with Hemp Protein

When you eat sweets, your body releases endorphins, which make you feel happy, but which also mean you want more sugar when those endorphins fade. How do you keep from experiencing sugar cravings after meals?
By including hemp seed protein in your healthy recipes!
Boosting your protein intake with hemp food products helps keep you full and reduces your body's urge to go pick up another snack. Ever get some take-out food and fill yourself to the brim only to feel hungry an hour later like you haven't eaten in days?
That's your body telling you it didn't get enough healthy nutrients and that a sugar craving probably isn't too far behind. The healthy plant-based protein in hemp helps keep you full so you can avoid those late-night trips to the cupboard to grab a cookie.

Chris Conrad in a greenhouse garden, 2013

Hemp seeds also feature an incredible number of valuable minerals and nutrients. Linoleic acid for brain health, manganese for bone health, and zinc for metabolism support are just a few of the terrific components of hemp protein.
Want to reduce sugar cravings and enjoy a more effective, healthy diet? Try adding hemp seeds to your meals and enjoy long-lasting satisfaction after every meal.

ADD or ADHD (do not block fat)
Some of the fat blockers work? I've used them they are in this blog. B U T you can't over due because the brain needs fat. A temporary fix when needed. Coconut oil works best.

NO stimulants use calm herbs for an over stimulation of the brain. The key is to get the body in balance foods, vitamin and minerals.
Not so much meat as he suggests, but good oils is essential
Strange my post on ADD is missing? Why?

A pioneer of the modern U.S. hemp industry, Christopher Boucher will detail the history of hemp, including how, in 1938, it was declared to be "America's first billion-dollar crop" and then immediately disappeared from the radar thanks to the efforts of the petroleum industry. He talks about the bio-active compounds naturally found in both marijuana and hemp, which researchers have shown to have very therapeutic effects upon the human body.

ASHWAGANDHA FOR DEPRESSION, THYROID, ASTHMA.

Ashwagandha is a medical plant, root and berry are used to make medicine. I just recently started using this herb for my thyroid and bi polar (an "affective disorder of bi polar," meaning IT MAYBE is brought on by an allergy to iodine in shell fish in anything in the sea, allergic reaction to food or some drugs). This herb will also help the iodine problem so its perfect for me. Since iodine is a problem in the larger fish this is the herb to use if allergic to fish.
Ashwagandha worked so well for my thyroid and calming me down that I investigate further to see if it was my imagination.
It adds to more sexual desires

I had not heard of it and wondered why this was missing out of the herbs I've studied.
I had heard it was great for thyroid and polar depressions, electrical system of the body and blood pressure. Researching it I found it was for many of my other ailments such as in arthritis, anxiety, trouble sleeping (insomnia), tumors, tuberculosis, asthma bronchitis, backache, fibromyalgia, female and menstrual problems, chronic liver diseases. For me it is God sent. It stops my anxiety immediately. I also have used Kava Kava at night and love Bach's Rescue products, such as pastilles i.e. for sleep and stress. This product may take their place. We will see.

Ashwagandha is also used as an “adaptogen” to help the body cope with daily stress, and as a general tonic. It may take the place of Celebrex (arthritis) which raised my blood pressure and other problems. (I can't take this product it not good on the heart too.

Some people also use ashwagandha for improving thinking ability, decreasing pain and swelling (inflammation), and preventing the effects of aging.

It is also used for fertility problems in men and women and also to increase sexual desire. I notice it gets me up mentally (lg. doses depending on your needs and problems) Maybe a night or some may need on does durning the day. Try it out different time or, vary the dosage accordingly.

Ashwagandha is applied to the skin for treating wounds, backache, and one-sided paralysis (hemiplegia).

In Ayurvedic, Indian, and Unani medicine, Ashwagandha is described as “Indian ginseng.” Ashwagandha is also used in traditional African medicine for a variety of ailments.
Use for:
  • Tumors.
  • Tuberculosis.
  • Liver problems.
  • Swelling (inflammation).
  • Ulcerations.
  • Stress.
  • Inducing vomiting.
  • Altering immune system function.
  • Preventing the signs of aging.
  • Fibromyalgia.
  • Sexual male or female (acts like a good Ginsing root and many think better. The reason is the ginseng has to be so many years old that herbal company's don't know or chooses to ignore this fact.) May take the place of velagra for many.
  • Other conditions.
           Other sources click links
How does it work?

Ashwagandha contains chemicals that might help calm the brain, reduce swelling (inflammation), lower blood pressure, and alter the immune system.

* Other herbal to calm down, depressions are; Bach's Relaxes, Kava Kava, and/or Flax seed oil.
This is one of my favorite herbs I use every night. It get me to sleep and help me when my blood presser or anxiety.

WATERMELON LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE

Watermelon extract lowers blood pressure better than dangerous pharmaceuticals.
Researchers from Florida State University have published the result of a study in the American Journal of Hypertension that explains how natural watermelon extract helps reduce moderately elevated blood pressure by providing a rich source of the amino acids, citrulline and arginine, both known to relax vascular pressure.
NO GMO seedless melons or any fruit, and wash that melon with ACV to get off any toxic residues.

Even watermelon seed will work for blood pressure if you can find any. They've taken out the seeds in every fruit ("...the flowers, leaves, seeds, and roots is where the plants store their medicines'') It's done purposely to kept you dependent on Pharm/stock market

HYPERTENSION, BLOOD PRESSURE

High Blood Pressure
An Holistic approach will be to treat the whole body. The liver, herbals some would be milk Thistle, Dandelion, Burdock Root or seed, Chaparral (thickening of the blood will overload circulatory system) or Astragalus Root. See also “Liver pages.”
A holistic approach will include watching all the organs such as;
Kidney: Drink lots of pure water (boil water), or distilled water if your normal water has heavy metals in it. Get a juicer and use. Add some Lemons or Pomegranates and other fruit juices with foods or a bit diluted. Take herbs that are diuretic in nature to rid the body in some cases of excess water. Use a green powered drink every day.
No stimulates such as drugs, liquors or tobacco that acerbates this problem.
Nerves or hypertension herbs are helpful, use nerve’s such as Hops, Hyssops or Black Cohosh, Lobelia magnesium (1 morn and night) B complex and B vitamin etc.

Foods: No Meats, use plant base diet if acute or use very little but, never two meals consecutively especially if mild condition of the heart. Mild food plant based diet or Semi Fast no mucus less diet (no cheeses). Use complex fibrous organic foods, Green leafy Vegetables and fruits, tomato juice, lemon juice (mornings), raw organic goats milk (if possible) and very small amount of cheeses with plant based fiber.
Calcium is a problem because most drugs to treat H.B.P. deplete the body of calcium that is needed in most cases) this actually acerbates this problem. Mono oil base margarines or, real butter with no hormones and use mono oils such as olive oil. No “white food or boxed process products. Also use plenty of Apple Cider Vinegar, Tomatoes, V8 juice cabbage family and organic soy etc. Organic Westsoy I use is full of protein 9 grams and 4 fiber. Great for starting the day, or in between meals. Get the unsweetened and add your own style of sugar.
Sugars: Natural raw sugars, Stevia or raw honey, Xylitol, only.
Treat the same as “Heart” sees PG.
Book: “Heart Break in Heart Disease” by Sanotra sp All rights reserved

The heart needs mono fats: Lecithin 3 tsp. daily, or Borage oil, Flaxseed oil and cleans out arteries, Fish oil, Wheat germ, Safflower oils, i.e. (every day) 3,6,9 omegas fatty, flaxseed oil, normal pH level foods that will keep the inflammations down. (3 tsp.daily).
Herbal Aid: Cactus liquid, 10 drops daily

Other Herbs: Capsicum, (1 tsp 3 times a day) Lobelia, Hawthorn Berry, Sassafras, Garlic, Chanca Piedra phyllanthus niruri (This herb will aid in plank build up, and increases bile secretions to lower blood cholesterol levels in rat studies.) Fenugreek is a blood thinner but is not be used with pain relievers. It is not to be taken with drug for thinning the blood. Chanca Piedra is for hypertension. Melatonin is another good herb for HBP. And Royal honey.
Treat for parasites and use products such as Duflucan, fluconazol, or Nystatin, i.e. (from doctor) (Parasites are always involved) Black Walnut Hull, good organic Oregano oil, Olive Leaf extract and i.e., change from one parasitic herb to another every three months. Herbs for liver also see these studies.
A holistic approach will included especially the Colon: Senna or Psyllium and other herbal laxative, Mandrake if very sick will aid colon and liver but it is a laxative but not to be used if pregnant, or going to be. Keep the colon clear everyday. If this is not done it’s like a kinked hose and building up pressure. Fibrous plant based diet is important and/or add to the diet (Gymnema) or such fibrous herbs (foods). So is the bowel flora that is off in this condition.
Add a good yogurt such as Kefir, i.e. 3-10 days. Psyllium will sweep out pockets in colon and grab on to the parasite and toxins. Add 3mg of Senna if you still have constipations, but this is a fast moving herb to deal with and may have to be adjusted to individuals.
(Fiber foods)
Be sure to use watermelon and its seeds (organic if possible)
Remember it's called Hypertension, keep calm (Avoid really stressful situation if you can)
Kava Kava, and Ashwagandha extract, garlic, Bach Rescue Remedy in emergency's

Herbals For Blood Pressure (Hypertention)

Foods: A animal protein diet is a problem with high blood pressure. No Meats, when ever possible, use plant base diet if "acute" (which means now happening) or, use very little, deluding---washing heavier food like meat down with gobs of fibrous vegetables, fruit and whole grains. (Three gram 6 time a day with 3 meals and two snacks, at a minimum.) Never two meals consecutively especially if mild heart condition too. See: Post; "Mild food plant based diet" or, "Semi Fast" a no mucus less diet (no dairy or cheeses in serious cases.) The scriptures say, "...use mild foods"... when and if lacking faith to a priesthood healing" this diet connects here. (paraphrased) Word of Wisdom diet is a plant based...not meat based diet.  It should have been left as it was given..."not constraint or a commandment," for its caused "everyone" to error. Secondly, their are medicines from teas and always has been from the beginning of time. Capsules are just the modern version of dispensing plant herbal medications for marketing and controlling of supplement's.

Blood Pressure: When you treat the heart, liver, and the colon you'll also treat your blood pressure. (hypertension) Too much salt is far  over rated. Adding too much salt keeps up the water pressure inside your "faucets" causing fluids to back-up.. That's why if you have blood pressure you may from doctors get a diuretic DRUG, which afterwards; have to take potassium pill.
The rippling effects of this; pulling water off so fast causes loss in minerals then will cause leg cramps i.e.. Go figure? Doctors treat symptom not the causes.
Don't eat meat this will clog up the colon and also raise blood pressure, (if this is your main problem). Too much proteins is also hard on the kidneys, and then you'll need a diuretic pill again. Get you main plant basic vegetarian for the most part, (plant base) diet to correct the problem then hypertension will correct itself.
I'm allergic to fish, so I couldn't use the fish oil for b.p. however I've started taking krill oil, 500 mg. daily and my b.p. is back to normal. (Krill is what the fish live on and don't have a chance, nor a long life, to acquire much chemicals nor Mercury.) Accually you don't really need to read futher for blood pressure, but here are other natural means that will work for this and heart problems. I just will call them more "TID BITS"...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6788476/Revolutionary-operation-could-cure-high-blood-pressure.html
HEART;
The heart needs mono fats: 3 g. daily or, Lecithin 3 tsp. daily, or Borage oil, Flaxseed oil and cleans out arteries, (smaller) Fish oil, Wheat germ, Safflower oils, i.e. (every day) 3,6,9 Omega fatty acids that will keep the inflammations down. (abt. 3 tsp.daily).
Herbal Aid: Cactus liquid, 10 drops daily
Herbals: Have on hand at all times (protects heart) Capsicum, (1 tsp 3 times a day), Great to have on hand in case of a heart attack. (I have a tincture on hand)

Lobelia, Hawthorn Berry, Sassafras, Garlic, and Chanca Piedra phyllanthus niruri (This herb will aid in plank build up, and increases bile secretions to lower blood cholesterol levels in rat studies.) Fenugreek is another blood thinner but is not be used with another pain relievers. It is not to be taken with drug for thinning the blood.
Chanca Piedra is for hypertension.
Melatonin is another good herb for HBP and a good calming influence for sleeping disorders
.
Parasites are always involved in any disease. Their are many herbals for parasites. Drugs are products such as Duflucan, fluconazol, or Nystatin, i.e. (from doctor) (Black Walnut Hull, good organic Oregano oil, Olive Leaf extract and i.e., see the page on parasites. It's a good idea to change from one herb to another every three months. There's not enough research on herbs killing specific fungals. Oregano oil can be dropped in a capsule and taken right away.
Treat for yeast.
How To Get Rid of Parasites/Fungus/Micro (donations accepted for my small pamphlet for postage and handling.) also, in this blog is the seeds needed for anti fungals or parasites.
A holistic approach will included especially the keeping the kinked hose unplugged and flowing at all times.
Keep the colon clean...of toxins;
Colon: I've had too many friends who think a bowel movement every two or three days is normal. This can cause a back up in the system flow and even headaches. Senna (strong; see colon care post) with Psyllium, Cascara Bark and other such herbal laxative, Mandrake if deathly sick will aid colon and liver but it is a laxative and not to be used if pregnant, or going to be. Keep the colon clear everyday. If this is not done it’s like a kinked hose, its building pressure and then leaks profusely. Fiber and/or fibrous plant based diet is important and/or add to the diet, Gymnema, or other such fibrous herbs. The bowel flora that is off in this condition. Add to it a good yogurt such as Kefir, i.e. 3-14 days and pro biotic therapy. Psyllium will sweep out pockets in colon and grab onto pockets, parasite and toxins. Add abt 1-3 mg of Senna if you still have constipation's. This is a fast moving herb to deal with and may have to be adjusted to individuals or substitute to a more slower moving herbal laxative.
Another holistic approach will be the
This is a holistic approach, treat also the liver;
Liver: Milk Thistle, Dandelion, Yellow Dock, Burdock Root or seed, Chaparral (thickening of the blood will overload circulatory system) or Astragulas Root. Lemon juice with ginger or just lemon in water first thing in the morning will do...See my “Liver pages.”

A holistic approach will include watching the
Kidney: Drink lots of pure water (boil water), or reverse osmosis, or, distilled water if your normal water has heavy metals in it. Get a easy juicer and use sparingly fruits however fruits are better if you add in some vegetables. Always add in greens to slow down some of the process of elimination. Add some Lemons or Pomegranates and other fruit juices with foods or a bit diluted with water. Take herbs that are diuretic in nature to rid the body in some cases of excess water if need be. No stimulates such as drugs, liquors or tobacco that acerbates this problem

Nervines herbs for hypertension herbs are helpful, use nerve’s such as Hops, Hyssops or Black Cohosh, Lobelia, magnesium (1 morn and night) B complex and B vitamin etc. (B-12 shots anyone?) See Banana page also. Caution, using herbals such as Licorice Rt. with drugs for blood pressure.

Eat Meat Propaganda Use complex fibrous organic foods, Green leafy Vegetables and fruits, tomato juice, lemon juice (mornings), bananas, raw organic goats milk (if possible) and very small amount of cheeses with plant based fiber. Calcium is a problem because most drugs that treat H.B.P. deplete the body of calcium that is needed in most cases) this actually acerbates this problem. If you use B12 and calcium that needs magnesium to be effective. FATIGUE: is cause by blood pressure medications.

No GMO- Mono oil base margarines and use real butter with no hormones and use mono oils such as olive oil. No “white food or boxed process products. Also use plenty of Apple Cider Vinegar, Tomatoes, V8 juice cabbage family and organic soy, Royal jelly, Asparagus extract, Vegetable proteins (5 + servings)

Sugars: Natural raw sugars, Stevia or raw honey, Xylitol, only. Say away from any sugar, Aspartame sugar or MSG. I believe they actually cause these problems in the first place not salt.

Their is no magic cure: Insulin Resistance is simply too much sugar intake in cells. SIMPLY STOP excess SUGAR intake!.. OTHER THAN A TOTAL OF 9-ELEVEN TABLESPOONS A DAY. One packet is one gram 9-11 packet only.
The rest is changes into "fatty livers" and stored "sugar in your cells" causing "high cholesterol" and "high blood pressure" (Salt is not the direct culprit, other than water backing up in the "pluming" with loads of water that indirectly causes high pressure.)
