Garlic; An Antifungal and Medicines


This soup has more than 50 cloves of garlic, onions, thyme and lemon will destroy almost any virus that enters its path including colds, flu and even noro virus.



It has gained its reputation as a virus buster thanks to one of its chemical constituents, allicin.

A recent and significant finding from Washington State University shows that garlic is 100 times more effective than two popular antibiotics at fighting disease causing bacteria commonly responsible for food borne illness.

When the garlic is crushed, alliin becomes allicin. Research shows that allicin helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure and also helps prevents blood clots. Garlic can also reduce the risk of developing atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Compounds in this familiar bulb kill many organisms, including bacteria and viruses that cause earaches, flu and colds. Research indicates that garlic is also effective against digestive ailments and diarrhea. What’s more, further studies suggest that this common and familiar herb may help prevent the onset of cancers.

‘This chemical has been known for a long time for its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal powers,’ says Helen Bond, a Derbyshire-based consultant dietitian and spokeswoman for the British Dietetic Association.




The problem of testing or making this up in some kind of formula is that pharmaceutical companies are not interested in running huge, expensive trials — as they would with promising new drug compounds — because there is nothing in garlic that they can patent, package and sell at a profit.






This soup has lots of sulfur compounds or natural penicillin (anti biotic)

Garlic Soup Recipe

Serves 4

26 garlic cloves (unpeeled)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) organic butter (grass fed)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder
1/2 cup fresh ginger
2 1/4 cups sliced onions
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
26 garlic cloves, peeled
1/2 cup coconut milk
3 1/2 cups organic vegetable broth
4 lemon wedges

Preheat oven to 350F. Place 26 garlic cloves in small glass baking dish. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and toss to coat. Cover baking dish tightly with foil and bake until garlic is golden brown and tender, about 45 minutes. Cool. Squeeze garlic between fingertips to release cloves. Transfer cloves to small bowl.

Melt butter in heavy large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions, thyme, ginger and cayenne powder and cook until onions are translucent, about 6 minutes. Add roasted garlic and 26 raw garlic cloves and cook 3 minutes. Add vegetable broth; cover and simmer until garlic is very tender, about 20 minutes. Working in batches, puree soup in blender until smooth. Return soup to saucepan; add coconut milk and bring to simmer. Season with sea salt and pepper for flavour.

Squeeze juice of 1 lemon wedge into each bowl and serve.

Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate. Rewarm over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

If garlic were found to be a wonder drug, consumers could simply buy it in the supermarket for 30p a bulb or grow their own in the garden.

Nevertheless, garlic has a long and proud tradition as a medicine. The Ancient Egyptians recommended it for 22 ailments. In a papyrus dated 1500 BC, the labourers who built the pyramids ate it to increase their stamina and keep them healthy.

The Ancient Greeks advocated garlic for everything from curing infections, and lung and blood disorders to healing insect bites and even treating leprosy.


HISTORY: The Romans fed it to soldiers and sailors to improve their endurance. Dioscorides, the personal physician to Emperor Nero, wrote a five-volume treatise extolling its virtues.

One of the most interesting of the recent findings is that garlic increases the overall antioxidant levels of the body. Scientifically known as Allium sativa, garlic has been famous throughout history for its ability to fight off viruses and bacteria. Louis Pasteur noted in 1858 that bacteria died when they were doused with garlic. From the Middle Ages on, garlic has been used to treat wounds, being ground or sliced and applied directly to wounds to inhibit the spread of infection. The Russians refer to garlic as Russian penicillin.

More recently, researchers have unearthed evidence to show garlic may help us to stay hale and hearty in a number of ways.

Last June, nutrition scientists at the University of Florida found eating garlic can boost the number of T-cells in the bloodstream. These play a vital role in strengthening our immune systems and fighting viruses.

And pharmacologists at the University of California found that allicin — the active ingredient in garlic that contributes to bad breath — is an infection-killer.

Allicin also makes our blood vessels dilate, improving blood flow and helping to tackle cardiovascular problems such as high cholesterol.

An Australian study of 80 patients published last week in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported that diets high in garlic may reduce high blood pressure.

In 2007, dentists in Brazil found that gargling with garlic water (made by steeping crushed garlic cloves in warm, but not boiling, water) can kill the germs that cause tooth decay and gum disease.

But they hit a snag: the volunteers refused to continue the experiment, complaining that the garlic gargle made them feel sick. Looking at the garlic soup recipe certainly made me feel queasy. Still, it gave me an excuse to use up my ample supply of garlic.

Though last year’s awful weather caused crop failures on my allotment, I enjoyed a bumper harvest of garlic.

Among its many other virtues, garlic kills slugs and snails. Researchers from the University of Newcastle believe it contains oils that may cripple the nervous systems of these slimy creatures.
There are two schools of thought as to the best way of preparing garlic to make the most of its medicinal qualities.

Argentinian investigators found it releases its allicin-type compounds when you bake the cloves, while scientists at South Carolina Medical University believe peeling garlic and letting it sit uncovered for 15 minutes produces the highest levels of compounds to fight infection.

So you can simply peel half of the garlic cloves and roast the other half with the kitchen door tightly closed (to stop the pong permeating throughout the house).

After an hour-and-a-quarter’s industrious soup-making, sprinkle lemon juice over a bowl of steaming, grey gloop and tuck in.

The heady aroma certainly revs up the appetite and the first spoonful does not disappoint. Delicious as it is, however, one large bowl of home-made soup is a more than ample meal.

As for the soup’s cold-preventing powers, only time will tell. Regular bowlfuls may very well keep me free of winter ailments, thanks to the virus-killing compounds they contain.

Or it could just be that my nuclear-strength garlic breath will keep everyone who is infectious far out of sneezing range for months to come.

I use the old macerated garlic, honey and ACV stored in  a mason jar going all the time. I can't seem to buy a good product that doesn't ruin the allicin, Allium sativa. Don't trust the over the counter formulas they may not work as well nor as economically done. My formula works and last a long time.
The recipe can be modified if you don't have all the ingredients. The coconut is a anti fungal and will coat/protect the stomach as will the ginger. Keep ginger on hand for stomach problems.

HOW TO INCREASE OXYGEN LEVELS


Low levels of oxygen in your blood, also known as hypoxemia, can be caused by illnesses such as emphysema, pulmonary disease or cardiovascular disease. This condition is characterized by shortness of breath, fatigue and waking up with the sensation of choking, according to MayoClinic.com.

Ginkgo Biloba (see links below for details)
Ginkgo biloba is an herb that is used to treat problems related to circulation of the blood in your body. Since oxygen is carried to various parts of the body via the blood, ginkgo may increase the amount of oxygen that reaches the periphery of your body, including your arms and legs. The University of Maryland Medical Center explains that people who have impaired circulation to the legs, known as intermittent claudication, have experienced relief from the administration of ginkgo biloba. Ginger
Ginger is a popular culinary herb that is well known for its calming effect on an upset stomach, relieving nausea and treating motion sickness. This herb has been in use for over 4,000 years and its therapeutic benefits are still being revealed. According to UMMC, preliminary research on the ability of ginger to thin the blood has shown promising results, although more studies are needed to confirm this effect. Taking ginger can thin the blood, and caution should be taken if you are already taking blood-thinning medications. For people with circulatory problems, however, this may be a beneficial effect that can decrease the risk of stroke due to blockage by a blood clot.
Motherwort
Motherwort's beneficial heart effect is evident by its Latin name: cardiaca. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center explains that motherwort has been used for thousands of years to treat cardiac rhythm problems. Some research, the center adds, suggests that motherwort may be an effective treatment for impaired circulation, but more research is needed in order to be definitive. In studies performed on laboratory rats, motherwort was effective in blocking the cardiac stimulation caused by substances such as caffeine. Irregular cardiac rhythms caused by stress or the use of stimulants can temporarily constrict blood vessels and decrease the amount of oxygen that reaches the extremities.

Keep the right pH balance: Most fruit and vegetables have a pH rating. This will help increase oxygen levels. Too heavy foods are not in balance with the needed flow.

The Flu Formula (Penicillin Substitute)

Their are many anti biotic herbals; and ways to make the palpable for your taste: Oil of cinnamon, cloves, and peppermint i.e. can be added. lemons, oranges, garlic, onions, honey, ACV and herbs such as Goldenseal Root which costly and can't be used at the same time as taking a drug.
These is my formula method. I've made a quicker onion formula then the flu formula below just by dicing onion on a cookie sheet; bake till bits of browns are made than add this to ACV (cover, and it will swell) and at the end add honey a natural antibiotic too. Then after 14 days and shake periodically then, drain before adding the honey. Make as much as you need in this method its all food. Store in dark bottles.
(To keep the flu away take some everyday; the same as the next Garlic Formula).


Mix from dry herbs; making them into liquids before combining;
 Mix well the following liquid ingredients:
FLU FORMULA
 *8 parts apple cider vinegar (parasite, etc)
 *5 parts glycerine ~Vegetable (?) or, preserve it for a longer time with Vodka/liquor
 *5 parts raw honey (add last) Honey is healing and makes the medicine have a pleasant taste.

 *2 parts garlic juice, fresh (see below) This is the antibiotic part. Use hot potent garlic or for children onion can be substituted. Remember the honey make it milder. I've been know to use more garlic?

 *2 parts comfrey root concentrate -This is the part that cleanse the liver and you can sub with another liver herbal, listed in my blog post (Be sure to grow your own by buying root cuttings) Horizon herbs has the roots to plant in the fall. Leave out if you can't get it.

 *1 part wormwood concentrate -parasites (add in 1/2 cloves or 1/2 part cinnamon which will kill parasite also, if you can't get this herb.)

 *1 part lobelia leaf concentrate- calms, reduces fever, kill poison and kills off toxicity waste (I have bought the tincture on line and added a bottle in. This is important if really sic.) I will not buy a formula without it in. I sometimes have to add it in at the last minute. Directions are on the bottle. Mountain Rose Herbs, Oregon has the tincture and they have the recipe to make it too.

 *1 part marshmallow root concentrate (mucus less forming, a natural pH can Slippery elm (colon~lax...) or, sub ginger root; will aid if stomach problems)
 *1 part Oak bark concentrate (parasitic)
 *1 part Black walnut bark concentrate (parasitic)
 *1 part Mullein leaf concentrate (Lungs need to be protected, holistic med. comfrey's will do some of this too)
 *1 part skullcap leaf concentrate (keep you calm and kill parasites)
 *1 part each: Uva ursi, Hydrangea or Gravel root concentrate (it also has female and stones melting properties)


To make concentrates:
Each concentrate should be made individually.
Start by soaking the herb in enough distilled water to cover it, for four hours, over night if it is a root.
Makes one gallon: (bottle in dark smaller bottles)
 After soaking, add more distilled water so that the total added equals 16 oz. water per 4 oz. of herb. Use a multiple of these amounts for larger batches. Using this amount will make approx. one gallon of Anti-Plague.
Simmer the herb on very low heat in a covered pan or double boiler for thirty minutes. Then strain the liquid into a clean stainless steel pan.
 Put the liquid into a double boiler or on very low heat uncovered and simmer it down to one-fourth of the original volume (4 oz.) Only after all the ingredients have been prepared should the liquids be mixed. (Use only stainless steel pots.)

To make Garlic Juice: for the above amount use 2 1/2 lbs. of garlic - peel, blend in blender with vinegar (do not liquefy).
Let set for 3 days, shaking several times per day. Squeeze out liquid and measure. If needed add more vinegar to equal the 8 parts. (This with Lobelia/or cayenne can be added for a penicillin and taken alone if you can't make the rest up.) Or, sub. onions for the children?

(all parts are quoted) I've made just parts of this formula recipe and it stilled worked. Sub. where your herbs parts are missing or its not available, or in your area their are different herbs for the same purpose.

 Another "liver" herb may be dandelion root i.e. You do not have to come to the USA or go over-seas for their herbs. They may have the same herbs of different ones for the same purpose. God is good to all. (or, they're many, see liver herbs, that maybe added or substitute.
If your in pain stop eating. If you do eat, don't indulge in heavy foods such as eating meat, high proteins. A correct pH balance is best. Best is a plant based diet especially if really sick. Remember the blood must be cleared/cleaned so toxins/parasite/cancers/ and other diseases can leave.
Keep your doors to your body's hallways open. Ingesting meat will close these doors. Just watch you tongue, if its white your cleaning the lymph's/liver/blood out of the body.  You will heal of your disease with this natural Penicillin if you follow directions. Use the best plants for any medical herbal formulas.

Here are more options, some times it depends on what you have on hand for an emergency. It's smart to think ahead and keeps certain item in you first aid supply.


 If you have a stomach problem add in ginger root (or, buy the candied and chew on it with this)
Bowel: If you have diarrhea use more fiber in the diet;  6 g. fiber bread, sunflower leaves will work, no sprays on herbs plants use healing GMO's).
Yogurt with live bacillus to replace the bowel flora lost and or cheese, i.e. for IBS or diarrhea problems.
 If you can't do this every meal eat only one meat/protein meal and the other two vegan; take your formula Tbs 3-4 times a day.
Balance out all Protein sources it not in balance is not good for the liver and kidneys.
The flu shot is under fire: read before you take it if you have asthma etc
Whiskey and sugar:
My mother, an N American Indian lineage, for my asthma bronchial attracts of fits of coughing sent my dad out in the middle of the night to get small sample whisky. Then added it into a tablespoon of sugar. No problem even the next day no more cough fits. It burned and kills the flame in the throat immediately.
Lemon and Sugar:
Mom also made us kids hot cup of fresh lemonade and sugar. We never had money for over-the-counter cough syrups.


Steam showers for throats or lungs and breathing problems still works.


Rubbing Alcoholic soaked rag about the neck then covered over and tucked under the covers before bed time. My dau still uses this as did my mother. (...strip throats i.e.)

I learned to like ginger using it in my wonton recipe. Theirs a candy they make of dried ginger/sugar, it's fantastic for stomach and keeping pH levels. (found at HFS) I use to make herbal formula's; never left out  ginger as it pads any stomach problems when used with any other herbs (catalyst) and help them to go where they need to go in the body. Great for children and nauseated mother's to be and headaches. If you have pain from arthritis, etc Ginger will bring the body back to a natural pH and kill the pain. I use the health food stores candied ginger and it works every time or, Baking Soda


Try the lemon, cuke and ginger beverage for weight. Dr. Oz i.e. It the root that makes it powerful. If using this herb for healing purposes be sure it hasn't been grown in bad soil where they've used chemicals. This will damage the healing properties.

IBS, NATURAL REMEDYS; TREAT THE COLON FOR ALL DISEASES

Colon Care Using Natural Remedies
