History: Did you know that raw vinegars was the result of an ancient accident?

Note: Bug remover: Rubbing alcohol is a disinfectant, shines chrome etc. and great in water as a window cleaner with 1 tbs dish soap and alcohol in a spray bottle. Take on that long trip to keep windows clean.

Anyone ever been swamped with fruit flies? I got this tip of how to get rid of fruit flies. Try putting cider vinegar in a dish - add a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Cover with saran wrap then punching several holes in the wrap. Or use, a narrow neck bottle use the same amount of liquid in this but you don't have to cover it.
Works great! I now keep a dish around the cabinet or near my garbage can, and no more flies.

Home Made Sweetened Condensed (want to use up the powdered milk?) 1 cup of powdered milk, 1/3 cup warm water, 2/3 cup sugar (no corn syrups here) and 3 TBS of melted butter. Recycled Newspaper to Control Weeds, instead of purchasing expensive landscape cloth, herbicides or spending hours on your knees pulling weeds, good old fashion newspaper is a great substitute to control unsightly weeds. (Dry straw from farmers under tomato plant keep the tomatoes dry and no weeds. (Not too close to plant) Use several sheets of newspaper, as you would landscape cloth. Cover the paper with soil, mulch or landscape stones. It allows moisture into the soil and blocks most weeds for at least 3 years. The thicker the layer of paper the longer it will last. I use to do this trick “Saving on Fabric Softener,” for years then dryer sheets came out, but I hear they will kill bug…so what are the chemicals do to our skins? Save on fabric softener or (fabric softener sheet, use twice) by applying a small amount to a wash cloth or old clean sock, handkerchiefs, etc. and toss the sock into the dryer with the rest of the wet clothes. About the size of a quarter will work. Or, put on saved toss-away fabric sheets i.e. (If dryer sheet will kill bugs then what are the chemicals doing to our skins? (Especially babies) “Heloise” says it good for hair conditioner too.

Natural Cleaning For Rugs Stains

Who Would Think H202 or Hydrogen Peroxide Cheap Rug Stain Remover?
Here is another antiseptic and disinfectant used in the kitchen to wash down surfaces to get rid of germs (fungi) such as e – coli. It is hydrogen peroxide. You can use H202 (food grade) in a spray bottle and wash vegetables then rinse and dry the vegetable off. Also, a bit of the cheaper kind can be used diluted with water in plants with making them healthy and get rid of their enemy…fungi's.
However, did you know it can get rid of most rug stains? (Thereby getting rid of chemical cleaners) As an artist, I have dropped black oil paint on my shoe then spread the black oil paint though out the house. I rub the stain the next day with some goop diluting the oil down a bit and then to keep it moist because the timing was not good to remove it totally that moment. It still had big stains when I did get back to it but successfully removed the rest, and scrubbing it in, with some hydrogen peroxide.. I was surprised myself at its results although I have used it before, but this was the worst stain ever. My Handy man mending my ceiling removed water stains that were old and ugly by painting the outside stain with it. Maybe that is where I got my cue. The cost of chemicals spot remover at the stores to remove this kind of stain is out of my budget today. I always keep hydrogen peroxide well supplied in my house for its antiseptic qualities and many other uses mention in other pages in this blog.
The knowledge of how and when to use H202 handed down to me from my mother’s habits as she used it for any broken skin or wounds. Moreover, everyone knows for blood removal that nothing is better and to get a wound clean before bandage or sewing it up.
We were migrating workers and could not afford to go to doctors. All the money we had was what dad had in his pockets and the trunk of our car, managing to barely keep of the welfare rolls. Dad was a very proud man. All six of us lived in parks in the old car during summer seasons migrating from Arizona, to Oregon, Oklahoma and Arkansas etc. No money for baby-sitters so I had to take care of my three brothers while my parents labored side by side in the fields, when we were younger.
Once my brothers were jumping from bed to bed when one of my brothers slipped and hit his head on the corner of the cast iron rail, splitting his head and scaring me to death with all the blood. I was not even in school but saw Mom get out the peroxide for everything. Copying her, I got it out and kept pouring it on the head wound until it did not bleed or bubble any more. It worked great and my first experience in home remedies. Mom and Dad look at my work and it passed, no Doctor visit and the wound healed up fast. You cannot get much in the trunk of your car for a family of six, but there was always room for our basic first-aid, hydrogen peroxide. I am experienced and know how to survive in famines please go back over these pages in this blog.
Do buy a book on this subject and do more research. Further study will explain more and give directions on how to use it in your “head orifices” during illnesses, eye, nose, throat and even ear problems. However, for these types of problems use the highest-grade of peroxide usually with distilled water. (35% or 6% -H203 "FOOD" GRADE)
The reason I’ve added this page in is because I would like to teach my readers some basic simple cheaper home remedies that are needed and ought to be stored during harder times to come. For some of us a famine is already here. This is very inexpensive but mighty in power because of the “oxygen” making content.
Store as many bottles as it can be used in many ways. I find it doesn’t deteriorate much at all, any bad batch use as rug cleaner.
Buy at the Health Food Stores but not for rugs but more for an antiseptic, or, for vegetable washing order on the Internet. The Dollar store they’re 2/$1.00 FOR THE RUGS AND EVEN WASHING of veggies and sinks etc. BUT NOT "INTERNAL" USE UNLESS IT THE FOOD GRADE PEROXIDE.
Please do more research before using both kinds. Some food grades as sold at Wal-Mart and HFS, and on the Internet.

Natural Drain Cleaner: Vinegar with Baking Soda

Vinegar is great an e-coli killer, a rug spot cleaner, dentures, i.e. but did you know its a natural disinfectant and can be used like a drain-o purge? It will unplug your sink WITHOUT CHEMICALS! Keep plenty on hand.

If you have dentures just add it to a cup of water vinegar and 1/4 tsp (abt) of baking soda then soak. This will disinfect and clean just like the most expensive fizzy in the drug store In fact it’s better than the most expensive cleaning products that are diluted, perfumed, and toxic on the market.

I’ve noticed that many must be doing their homework and have gone back to adding some vinegar (tbs of alcohol) to their window cleaners instead of ammonia.

Did you know a box of baking soda and straight vinegar will unclog your drain. Well at least most. Of course, if you’ve got an object down the drain it won’t work. You’ll have to first get an attached wire bristles brushes attached to a long bendable wire to go down the drain and remove the object. (Sold in catalog) then do the “vinegar drain purge”.

Vinegar Drain Purge: First remove the standing water then pour the box of baking soda in the drain hole. Next pour the in the vinegar. This will foam, and push put the clogged up drain opening it, and disinfecting at the same time. If it’s real stubborn let it set over night to get the grease etc. (This needs to be timed.) The next morning all the water and drain will be cleaned. I always keep extra (white distilled cheap stuff) on hand just in case I need it for this very purpose. No need for that lye expensive brands (Drain-O) where the fumes alone does damage to the lungs.

Hydrogen Peroxide, Clorox, Salt, Vinegar's and Baking Soda are NATURAL "musts" to have on hand in food storage programs for emergency disasters that can come up on us all. Store it by the gallons. It has been used as a disinfect cleaner for internal and external uses if shown how to use this product its so much cheaper and healthier than chemical cleaning. BAKING SODA IS USED TO ERADICATE CANCER.

Clorox Cleans Fruit, Vegetables and Bathing

Clorox, is a good body cleanser, other brand are not proven as effective, is an effective for Clorox bathing, and works great to clear foods (vegetables, fruits) of pesticides, parasites, bacteria like salmonella. Food even last longer and meats are disinfected and tenderized thus flavor enhanced.
This product oxygenating of sodium hypochlorite, breaks down to salt and water should not be confused with CHLORINE, which is a chemical disinfectant thats known to be added to drinking water. In third world poverty countries, where basics are non-existing "health missionaries" use a little in a quart of water for a douche for women with female problems, or vinegar will work.
Clorox bathing has been around for decades. Military families stationed overseas in Southeast Asia, China and Turkey has used Clorox properties through the recommendations of Government program.
My southern mother passed this remedy down to me. She said to add it to your bath water to get rid of poison ivy or oak. I used every product the doctor suggest and oatmeal but nothing relieve this spreading and itching until I remember what my mother said her family used, and it went away with one bath.
I have used a solution of Clorox to wash down kitchen, cupboard, and floors, rinsed poultry fish meat etc. with this product when so poor when could not afford any cleaning product with great success.
Research of Dr. Parcell show in the research he did that that Clorox removed pesticides, parasites, bacteria, and most contaminants with a simple soak of Clorox and water. There are different soaking times for fruits and vegetable from 15 to 30 minutes (See Beyond Pritikin 1988) Soaking vegetable or fruit may remove some nutrients, and you may prefer apple cider vinegar followed by hydrogen peroxide (food grade) that can have the same results.
Clorox is a natural cheap remedy to consider and store up for bad time. It also has been used in drop to gallon of water as a purifier. (Not Chlorine the chemical)

KITCHEN FIRE: What to do

I have had a kitchen oil fire...Even the smallest one can smoke damage everything and the whole kitchen will have to be re-done. That's when I learned about baking soda in the bottom of the oven (Grease spills and splatters adhere to it.) Under burner and stove top will absorb any grease from getting out of control, plus take care of kitchen odor's. Great when children are home alone cooking. Be sure to keep a box of baking soda on the stove top to put out and absorb the grease and fire on stove or pan. Pan cleaning will be easier too. Put a box in the refrigerator door to absorb the odors their too plus, you have an extra box if needed. Use the old boxes of baking sodas for the bottom of your oven. (Dump a some in the cat litter box in an emergency too.)

It started out with Susan Sumner, a food scientist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, worked out the recipe for just such a sanitizing combo. All you need is three percent hydrogen peroxide, the same strength, available at the drug store used for gargling or disinfecting wounds, and/or plain white or apple cider vinegar. Use a pair of brand new clean sprayers, like you use to use when you ironed. Tree Tea Oils and others can be added...?

If you're cleaning vegetables or fruit, just spritz them well with (both) the vinegar and the other bottle hydrogen peroxide. Then rinse them off under running water. (White distilled vinegar is most stores, don't waste the food stuff!) Today it's best to peel many veg.
It doesn't matter which you use first, but it takes both. You will not get any lingering taste of the vinegar or peroxide and neither is toxic even if a small amount remains on the product. You can buy food grade proxide in health food stores.

The pair works exceptionally well in sanitizing counters and other food preparation surfaces--includes wood cutting board.

In tests run at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Pairing the two mists killed virtually all Salmonella, Shigella, or E.Coli Bacteria on heavily contaminated food and surfaces when used in this fashion, making
this spray combination. It was found more effective at killing these potentially lethal bacteria than chlorine bleach or any commercially available kitchen cleaner.

The best results came from using one mist right after the other. It's ten time more effective than using either spray by itself and more effective than mixing the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide in one sprayer.

*Greasy areas: mix 1/4 cup vinegar with 2 cups hot water and add 1-2 dashes of biodegradable liquid soap. (Label the spray bottle)

*Chopping and bread boards wipe down with full strength white vinegar to disinfect; or sprinkle with baking soda before spraying with vinegar, wait 30 minutes before wiping clean, then rinse with peroxide and then water.

*You can put 1 cup vinegar on bottom rack of electric dishwasher before starting the wash.
*The one I use a lot is for the garbage disposals or drains. 1/2 cup baking soda followed by 1/2 cup of vinegar then drain sink and cover the drain for an hour or over night before flushing through with cold water. In a real bad situation use more.
*(Store extra baking soda) Their are more tip in books on Vinegar.

*If you have a flood or urine in your rug soak it up with baking soda and let it set over night, then vacume.
*For allergies because of the dust from the vacume cleaner spread a thin layer of baking soda on your rug. It will last as long as you have the vacume has the baking soda in it.

Raw unfilter vinegar with the "mother"and it's to be used for any antitoxin, parasites and a antifungal.

**For parasites: Use 1 t. to 1 Tb. in glass of water 3 times a day (child/adult dose) for 10 days, rest 14, and repeat.

I made mine up with herbs such as cloves, cinnamon stick, thyme and a bit of honey. I always use distilled water, but this can be made up with regular water. The herbs and just a bit of honey takes the edge off the taste. Plus they are anti fungal also. This is apple Cider Vinegar not distilled. If you don't like this style than use grape,tomato or fresh vegetable juices. Don't forget to store lots of vinegar, peroxide in cases of disasters. This is the best and the cheapest parasite formula.
