Lead Contamination of Tea

Lead Contamination of Tea (Even if it says Organic if from China think twice and do your research first.  This knowledge is not published much.

China burns about half of the world’s coal, spewing heavy metals, such as mercury and lead, into the atmosphere and affecting the development of neighboring children. But what if you don’t live in China or eat anything produced in China?
You could still be exposed to mercury that settles in the oceans if you eat fish and seafood, but some people drink something from China: tea. China is one of the biggest exporters, but their rapid industrialization has raised concerns about lead contamination. Lead is a toxin that can affect almost every organ in the body, and the more lead in the soil, the more that ends up in the tea leaves, and the closer the tea is grown to the highway, the higher the levels, suggesting leaded gas, which wasn’t banned until the year 2000, may also be playing a role.
And just like larger longer-living fish accumulate more mercury, longer living leaves accumulate more lead. Young tea leaves appear to have two to six times less lead than mature leaves; so, not only do the young leaves that are used to make green tea and white tea have significantly less lead than the older leaves used to make black and oolong tea, the lead in black and oolong tea appears to be released much more readily into the tea water when brewed. And so, the health risk from lead may be 100 times lower for green tea compared to oolong and black.

Since certain fungicides may have heavy metal impurities, one might assume organic teas would be less contaminated, but in a study of 30 common teas off North American store shelves, there did not seem to be less toxic element contamination than regular tea, though presumably organic tea would have much less pesticide contamination. In terms of lead, the source of the tea, the country of origin, appears to be the most important factor. So, bottom line, how much tea is safe to drink?
It seems it matters where the manufacture brought the tea from,
container's used and don't forget the pots/cups you brew it in.
Based on the most stringent safety limits in the world—like California’s Prop 65 parameters—and the largest studies of tea lead contamination from around the world, this is what I was able to come up with.

If you’re not pregnant, and just drinking green tea, it doesn’t matter where you get your tea from. You can drink as much as you want, but given the average levels of lead in Chinese black tea samples, more than three cups a day would exceed the daily safety limit for lead.

Now that’s if you’re drinking tea, throwing the tea leaves or tea bag away. If you’re eating the leaves, like drinking Matcha tea, which is powdered green tea, or throwing tea leaves in your smoothie like I like to do, I wouldn’t add more than two or three heaping teaspoons unless, you’re using Japanese green tea, which is so low in lead that you can safely eat 15 spoonfuls a day—the only reason I would caution no more than eight is that could exceed the daily recommended limit for caffeine for adults.

What about children? If you’re a 70 pound 10-year-old, lead still isn’t a problem drinking green tea, but the safe caffeine intake for children is probably only down around three mg per kg, which would limit you to about four cups a day, though I wouldn’t add more than two spoonfuls of Japanese green tea to a child’s smoothie for caffeine reasons and more than one of Chinese green tea for lead reasons. Similarly, I wouldn’t like to see children drinking more than one cup of black tea a day and wouldn’t want them eating the leaves at all.

Pregnant women should be able to drink a cup a day of green tea throughout pregnancy, regardless of source, based on average tea lead levels, and the limit for Japanese tea is really just the caffeine limit, above four cups a day. I wouldn’t recommend drinking black tea during pregnancy, though, or eating any kind of tea leaves, unless you know you’re getting tea from a low lead source.

To see any graphs, charts, graphics, images, and quotes to which Dr. Greger may be referring, watch the above video. This is just an approximation of the audio contributed by Katie Schloer.

Lead in black Chinese tea is 100 times the level in Green tea. I don't drink tea, but if you do, this video will help you select the best tea.  Japanese tea has much less lead than Chinese one.  Chinese tea and produce is often super loaded with heavy metals due to lack of environmental laws enforcement.  So if you eat garlic or ginger or other things Made in China, don't overeat them or try get those from less polluted
countries... http://nutritionfacts.org/video/lead-contamination-of-tea
Yes heavy metals shows up in the body's iris

FAT BLOCKER CORRECTIONS...

This post is an added correction to my previous “FAT BLOCKER” posts. When I went back to my posts they were changed. Was it the diet industry or sugar? I probably left my door open by not signing out.
MY material will be out by others but it’s good to stop anyone until they can make as much money on them as possible on the two. These two parts change; revealing certain sweeteners and the latest on fat blockers. It was corrupted to make it looked like I had made a mistake, omission, flub i.e. detouring readers away from the real educational intent of the post altogether. Please let me know when you find these mistakes. (By whom?) Now back to the subject:

Health News

DO WE NEED FAT BLOCKERS?
We need oil in our bodies let me make that very clear. If you regularly take too many fat blockers you will crave more dairy or fat (chicken, chocolate, i.e. It’s your body’s “history” of signals’…in memory of foods stored into your minds-computer telling you… you need to eat more of a favorite fatty foods which is in you've programed that you’ve already eaten and if not over-done will feel better. The body recorder knows ALL your software, malware, and virus es and uses its program when necessary.
HOWEVER THE BOTTOM LINES: HAVE THEY WORKED? WE'RE STILL FAT AND POORER FOR THE FADS. WHY... who is getting rich at our stupidity?
New studies (Mostly done in Europe) are coming out with “fat s diets,” and its working well for them?) If you use too many fat blockers you’ll defeat your purpose and will gain weight, yet, not be hungry, and have energy. Metabolism that’s too high is far over rated. Has this knowledge worked? Are we loosing? NO (Then, stress kick in)
The mind needs good fat to lose weight to; have energy, brain power, focus, keen eye-sight, and to control blood sugars. (Hormones) Fat slows absorption and help blood hikes, add fiber to balance it out and slip it through.

I've noted before when I was on Flax or Fenugreek oil which was taken for arthritis pain, clarity of mind came back, and my joints didn’t hurt as much. (Fish oils work too.) This was much better than any pain pill. In fact I had to write P A I N on the front of the bottle with a black marker. It’s easy to forget how or when you out began to be relieved of pain, or exactly when the pain disappears. Fenugreek oil may cause dirreaha in some.
All blood sugars naturally raises higher toward the end of the day naturally. When anyone’s blood sugar gets high its natural signal is “I’m hungry. Unfortunately, the more you eat the higher and hungrier we become. That would include any excess of sugar, corn syrup, especially diet sugars which are sweeter and low caloric. Taking large doses of these types of herbs are not normal. What did your grandparents use? We are far heavier than they were. We have fake sugars, corn syrups and fads invented by educated idiots.
For one; It mess up the electrolytes of the body. When I went on fat blockers for 3 month and gained, in pain, lost walking skills, couldn’t turn over in bed (as the pain was so bad,) retained water, and with no fats became foggy minded. (See: Zone diet on the subject.) As I didn’t take them in the evening so to sleep I was three times hungrier then...

NEW FAD: *SENSA," a new diet aid "sprinkle" it onto food before you eat, is just a fat blocker.

FAT BURNER?....FORSKOHLII

Coleus forskohlii is an ancient Ayurvedic plant and member of the mint and lavender family. Recent research has shown that the active ingredient in coleus is forskolin, which plays a major role in a variety of important thyroid function, and increasing fat-burning activity. (fat blocker) Though scientists are only just confirming the many benefits of coleus, there's definitly a new "buzz" circulating about its potentials. The problem with the herb is finding a organically grown product. *Careful where you buy from and whom. Some Forskohlii has been noted laced with heavy metals in some coleus products. The price of this herb varies from $8.00 - 100. i.e. and found in many formulas. The root, seed, flower, leaves and/or stem in order of strongnesses of its product. Don't waste good money on stems. There's a lot of Petronia's in the health foods and pharmacy's with this herb.
8- And, make sure it has a least 10-20 percent forskohlii extract.
It's a perfect herb for my; Asthma, eye, congestive heart, obesity and bipolar-depression, all in one herb. The following reasons is why.
Forskolin may act synergistically with epinephrine, ephedrine and pseudoephedrine. It is possible that the use of forskolin may decrease the needed dosages of beta-agonists.Forskolin is in the Ayurvedic familly. Mostly grows in India, Burma and Thialand. Mostly used for allergies, respiratory, cardiovascular diseases, glaucoma, hypothroidism and even weight loss (fat blocker.) It's known to increase energy and works with the hormones in the body. (Asthma, Psoriasis, angina, congestive heart failure, obesity, hypertension, depression, glaucoma.) An Indian pharmaceutical co. is engaged in trail for an eye drop product.
Depression is believed to be associated with an imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain, serotonin and dopamine primarily. Where there is a shortage of serotonin, the supplements 5-HTP or tryptophan or the SSRI drugs like prozac or Zoloft may be beneficial. If the catecholamine neurotransmitters (epinephrine, norephinephrine) are deficient the amino acids L-Phenylalanine or L-Tyrosine, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors like GeroVital (GH3) or Deprenyl are may be helpful. Recent research has also been evaluating drugs that increase Cyclic AMP as a means of elevating the catecholamines. Since forskolin elevates Cyclic AMP, it may improve neurotransmitter function and thereby
Forskolin appears to exhibit potent immune system enhancement by activating macrophages and lymphocytes.Coleus also increases cerebral blood flow, indicating that it may be beneficial in cerebral vascular insufficiency, and in enhancing post-stroke recovery. The platelet aggregation-inhibiting effects of coleus also adds to its value in cardiovascular disorders.
Because forskolin inhibits platelet aggregation and clotting, it may enhance the effects of anti-clotting medications such as warfarin, clopidogre, aspirin, enoxap.arin, and dalteparin. Known as a Fat Burner, but their are many herbals some are too harsh and need to be studied to see if its the right one for you. Chitosan is fish shells...It is bad news for many to use this product.
This following herbs;
Fat blockers or some call "Fat Burner's;"  COLEUSFORSKOHLII.htm

Ma Huang-Ephedria (Wondered why his herb worked on weight...or did it really? These folks are still over-weight. You need to calm-down not speed up the adrenals which causes stress. Stress causes weight gain i.e.
Yata Mate, Bean extract are another ones etc......
What you really need to know is that this herbs goes in a different route then Ma Huang that can over work the adrenal glands Ma Huang eventually makes you wake up tired feeling in the mornings after dosing the previous day with ephedrine - Ma Huang.
"forskolin initiates a similar cascade of chemical reactions as this ephedrine. Where coleus differs from ephedrine is ephedrine stimulates adrenergic receptors (which is the primary mechanism for ephedrine, even though this process is not totally accountable for its fat-burning effects) before it reaches cAMP. Unfortunately, many negative side effects can be experienced when some of these adrenergic receptors are stimulated, such as increased blood pressure, anxiety, etc.
(This is basically why users of ephedrine-based supplements oftentimes experience unwanted and sometimes dangerous side effects.) " To the coleus user's advantage, however, coleus bypasses the adrenergic receptors and goes straight into the cAMP cycle, which is the next step in the ephedrine fat-burning process and subsequently also bypasses all of the potential unwanted, adverse effects associated with ephedrine. It leave a calming effect instead of a adrenia high."
Start with only one then add and follow direction. It's effectiveness will depend on your product in how it was formulated. Keep with a good product and watch out for formulas that may weaken the coleus. Do research...a lot!
CAUTION: A note more about fat-blockers, science has proven that we need the "right" fats, omega's for better brain functioning. It blocks all fats- good and bad. If you begin to get foggy-minded, memory problems, pain in joints, weaker, energy loss, pull back, or stop taking any “fat blockers. ”
Another, fact is, we have too many ADHD people because we’re preparing loo low-fat meals and eating low fat fad diet foods along with pre-fab meals.
Don’t over due these fat-blocker products and using them too long. These product can destroys health taking out the bad with the good producing another problems that will put on the pounds.(Too much of any product can over take the body's natural defenses. If an herb is calming it's good and best for bi polar "effective disorders" - (highs.) Helps them to get a good night sleep.
Stimulant herbals will worsen this condition such a Green Tea...,or caffeine products, rev-up the metabolism when it doesn't need it causing shaking, nervousness's, and excess stress to the body, in turn stress put on weight. All stimulates do..."The food for thought for the day." lipoine, sp fat hormone, weight reduction pill has advertise such about this fat stress metabolism effect- yadda yadda.
http://coleus-forskohlii.101herbs.com/ ? The pharmacy company's utilizes this herb in formulas, enzymes for the stomach and in cosmetic such as in tanning product etc...

TEAS ARE MEDICINE

History as far back as when people existed on earth plants have been using food for medicines to cure disease. History shows teas have been used for food and medicine. This movement is fast moving forward and cannot stop. Truth is immovable except for the stiff necked ignorant imbecile led away by Satan lies who loves to hide such truths to hinder mankind health.
http://shermshappenins.blogspot.com/2012/03/word-of-wisdoms-mild-foods-plant-based.html

It's Vegetation, Plant, and leaves are used as teas that gave us "Thiamine" that helps in weight control, and its history has been their cures in medicine for diseases!

Ezek. 47: 12..."and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine...." is  an old law is still holds true and is good for healing! ..."

But, don't drink it??? Why? Why do we need so much pro biotic today...to many hot products (food) that hit the gut kill the natural flora there. The stomach is the hub of the body. (No Hot drinks...as it kills flora as in yogurt and probiotics rendering them useless for healings)
Organically grown TEA'S are good beverages like "Ceylon" to "Green teas" and etc. (Check my blog post for L-thiamine in teas in Earth's Organic News.) Thiamine is an full of amino acid (infusions of Camellia sinensis), found almost exclusively in tea plants. Some teas are bitter...that add more anti fungal is organically grown and stronger medicines. Its Thiamine is found in Gyokuo leaf (research in the '50), and most teas which makes it a very good beverage.
It is related to glutamine and can cross the blood-brain barrier and enter into the brain. It also contains psychoactive properties and has been shown to reduce mental and physical stress or produce feelings of relaxation or improve cognition and mood when taken in combination with natures "nature" caffeine.
Theanine produces these effects by increasing the levels of gamma-amino butyric acids (GABA) levels and has shown micro molar affinities for AMPA, Kainate and NMDA receptors. Researchers also speculate that it may inhibit glutamic acid excitotoxicity. Theanine also promotes good alpha waves in the brain. Theanine increased brain's serotonin, dopamine (GABA) levels.

TEAS ARE A GOOD FOOD SOURCE: Maybe you can think of them as a thin vegetable soup?
Research has been done on rats repeatedly with extreme high doses of theamine
and cause little to no effects. It did show neuroprotective effects in one rat study. L-theanine has a significant effect on the release or reduction of neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, resulting in improved memory and learning ability. L-theanine may also influence emotions due to its effects on the increased release of dopamine. L-theanine reduces brain serotonin concentration by either curtailing serotonin synthesis or increasing degradation in the brain. Studies report that L-theanine increases the ANTI-tumor activity of chemotherapeutic agents. In addition, a good regulator of blood pressure, stress relief.

Japan is credited with most of the clinical studies and information we possess on L-theanine.
*L-Theanine helps the body's immune responses to infections by boosting the disease-fighting capacity of gamma delta T cells. (Pub. 2003, Brigham and Women's Hospital) Blood sample of 11 coffee drinkers and tea drinkers who consume 600 milliliters found the production of anti-bacterial proteins was up to five times higher in the tea-drinkers, a stronger immune response.

Conclusions on "Green Tea" With little Caffeine: Choc too?
Research into L-theanine derived from the contradictory observation that green tea, with its high caffeine content, produces a very calming effect. The seemingly multi-dimensional reasons for this relaxation effect will continue to be studied. Current areas of ongoing research include using L-theanine as an alternative to Ritalin in children and adults, as a treatment for PMS, in controlling certain conditions of high blood pressure, in sharpening mental acuity and concentration, and as an anti-cancer agent alone and in synergy with other cancer-fighting agents. L-theanine may find another area of application for its use as a supplement in reducing the negative side effects of caffeine brought on by the over-consumption of coffee, soft drinks, or other caffeine-containing substances.

It's good to use in between meals for weight-loss and so is soups! And, did you know you can pour hot water over caffeine tea then count 5 sec. pour the water out-off and you've just decaf your tea naturally! One more word about Caffeine, theirs natural and chemical caffeine like found in soda drink. One can be medicine and the other is just another poison for the body.
Don't get confused and don't over do these medical teas but use them as a medicine when needed (infusions.) Teas have the most antioxidants studied. Fruit namely berries are also high but harder for the poor and not as available to all.

History: (Plant's) In a tea's infusion i.e., in history, have been used to cure all sorts diseases.
Now, instead of teas, we have popularized simple herbal capsule with most of those are same tea or vegetable, and sometimes not in the form of the simple whole form an herb, in which processes can become toxic and even unwholesome. Teas have away of letting us know when we've gone too far with bitter tastes. The Bitter herbs or in teas is nature saying..."take caution."

Remember I serve and have no "Sacred Cows" as writer, that I cannot give my opinion on. This is a free country of free speech. I don't like any church to control (cults) of any thing subject and tell me what's correct and what to do. I can discern that for myself and so can you.
Mormon religion

Note: The other problem with the contradicted and compromised "Word (words) of Wisdom" original meaning in the Doctrine and Covenant as of its intent from the beginnings, is in part unintelligent, uninformed pioneers of their day, who knew nothing about herbals.

Even J.S. and his family was often criticized for their family drinking teas. Interesting it's in the "History of the Church" books and Joseph Smith and Herbal Medicines. (No, longer in print, the side is on suggested sites to visit and copy from there, and in )
John Heinerman's book) I hear you can order some of his books?

The over all compensation of interpretations at that time, and continues..." made it a commandment. It originally said "hot, cold" drinks, at that date interpreted only as coffee and tea. However, It said it was not a commandment in the original book. But, unwise change it not realizing this would change (plant) or herbal medicines. This history has corrupted the meaning and this book because its not God's in original form, and are counseled by their doctors, educated authority's who like today know nothing about plants nor the history's behind them. These stiff necked, righteous men are corrupted about teas because they obviously don't study it ALL out thoroughly.

Remember on my posts I do not attack issues not any religion but an issue. The issue here is tea for medicine, and anyone who would differ.

Thus, has church hindered and compromised the health AND progressions of many who could using teas to aid in health? This issue is steering toward a "culty" mentality attitude if you differ, and your a sinner too. Cults leads to a complete control over everything, no room for your own views.

Making an infusion of a plant leaf for weather for enjoyment, disease and/or health is not a sin. Further study unlocks more of the mysteries to "nature's laws." It's unlocks the meanings and essence of the scripture or history. Ezek. 47: 12..."

Most of us while taking Doctor prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs and taking in coke product s (all chemical soda pops), have the gall or ignorance to invest in coke's on Wall Street's  greedy, blind and arrogant in their views to point a finger at another personal beliefs.

The word of wisdom is just that...."wisdom"? plant based is "Mild foods" It relates to the DC if understood correctly using herbs (teas) its vegetable or" mild plant based foods that can be used for the healing of the sick."

Example: Chamomile tea can bring the body back to alkaline. Can a coke or any soda? Ir's too acid and full of chemicals that robs the body of minerals; and are far worse for the body.

One underlying problems with the popular interpretation of "no teas" (any teas) has causes many to error, caused sickness to continue and hurt the spiritual progression of many.
http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2010/03/09/ginger-tea-restores/ Ginger, alkalies (pH), stomach, voice i.e.

http://www.pshm.org/mormonmedicine.shtml Book by John Heinerman, Joseph Smith and Herbal Medicine is a collection of historical fact dealing with herbs. As far as I know this book is no longer in print? However, it is on line. I like this book only for all the historical references to herbs used at this period of time.

***And, another LDS Apostle's. : April, 180th Gen. Conference, Jeffrey Holland, Quorum of the 12 obviously doesn't study scriptures enough on the history of medicine therein. He said, "serve them tea and crumpets, and then tell them where the silverware is kept!"  He went on to error by saying ("You shouldn’t be serving tea anyway.") Judge for yourselves. Maybe a Coke? I've seen the talk changed on the Church site, but not in the Ensign
.
Since the church owned stocks in COKE/PEPSI with aborted cells of a fetus; all are the abominable beverages that has ruin the health of many. Remember here I'm attacking this ignorant statement not Holland nor "his" Church. This leaves this issue as fair game when incorrect, leading others astray from herbal or natural medications and its powers. Not all have privileged of a priesthood nor church for healing's to the sick. Even then...it never covers all does it?
Caffeine is not the issue here...nor chemical coke. Keep the herbs for medication in capsules or teas. for understanding HISTORY it can and will SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.

http://shermsorganicnews.blogspot.com/2010/03/introductions-preface.html What this blog is all about pg 1

+Weight: use no acid teas for weight loss, one is "pu erh" that melts fat. Other, FAT blocker teas such as Green tea or others maybe OK however, when these same fat blocker teas becomes consentrated powders i.e. in a capcule form they block too much fat of needed fat and you evenually will gain weight. Some are very acid (makes latic acid. That's the bottom line isn't it; use WISDOM. Obviously too many don't do their research in the subject.)

who should not have green teas; pay attention
