Black Bean Burgers

Black Bean Burger Ingredient: Can of black beans rinsed and drained and chopped-smashed with a fork, then add
1 egg,

a bit of basil, onion or garlic powder, oregano, (or choose)

1/2 teaspoon baking powder,
1/2 teaspoon salt,
1/2 teaspoon cumin,
1/2 teaspoon black pepper.

Use a nonstick cooking spray, 6 whole wheat hamburger buns , a good salsa is optional, Avocado slices optional, tomato, lettuce, red onion, i.e.
Other ingredients might substitute for 1/3 cup green onion tops, 1/4 chopped-up roasted red pepper
Or, 1/4 cup red onion 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/4 teaspoon cumin 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, 1 large egg, 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs (or brown rice) 1/4 cup light mayonnaise, or relish. Cover and chill 2 hours before frying. (Don't turn till brown)

To prepare burgers, place beans in a large bowl; partially mash with a fork. Stir in breadcrumbs (rice, oatmeal gluten i.e.) and next 5 ingredients (breadcrumbs through egg). Divide bean mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty.
Place patties on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 5 minutes on each side or until thoroughly heated. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun; top each with a patty, 1/4 cup relish, and top half of bun.

Eat right away...

You can add wheat gluten flour for more protein. It about (1/2 cup wheat gluten), 1/4 cup broth, 1 tbs tomato paste or ketchup, 1/4 cup cilantro, 2 cloves garlic or powder then fry in about 2 tbs. olive oil or more.
