Need Natural Steroids_Cortisone? Here are a few, but their are many more herbs that have the same characteristics of natural steroids(cortisone's.) Posst have limited space to cover any subject thoroughly.
Another bad Asthma Attack. I just got back from a long costly stay at the hospital. Usually going every year about the sane time. I stop breathing with out of control coughing this time. I am a diabetic so and can't take their steroids without it doubling by weight and blood sugars doubles. My insulin is not controllable when taking the asthma medications including what antibiotic had done to a ruin system. It was in this year when I remembered an herb taken for taking for weight problems in the herb closet. However, the doctor warned me to get off it and his lecture on the cons.
Out of desperation of the situation, the though came to me to use it. I knew I had some in the house somewhere. They put me on oxygen and I was very weak and it was hard to move and locate but some left in a bottle of Ma Huang (350 mg ) so I began taking it again.
It began to work immediately to my surprise. The herb was Ephedra or Ma Huang by Solaray. Solaray is a UT base company
Read warning on the bottle of Lic Root' This herb is to be use with much skill and in emergency's with asthma med in place of a steriod.
Also Licorice Root 450 mg for the coughs and is one replacement of the steroid effects (it's a source of corticosteroids). It will help with stress (great for the adrenals) and with incontinence problems too. This herb will effect potassium levels, so be careful not to be on it long term, and, interfere with some most especially in cholesterol or some asthma drugs dealing with steriods.
However, remember drug (all drug steroid's) deplete minerals of the body.)One of the greatest flue herbals. You'll find it in most natural cough etc formulas involving lungs.
History: "It is interesting to note that the ancient Greek and Roman armies gave their soldiers licorice, and they carried it on their persons as our boys have carried penicillin. It was given to allay thirst, but it may have done another thing of which the were not aware. It could have been the reason they were able to with stand terrible stress of war from childhood until maturity and still be the strongest, healthiest, continual armies the world has known. Certainly we in our day live under stress, but was is not a way of life with us usually as with the Romans? Our stress may feel certainly comparable. People may come to learn that a little licorice when under stress is superior to a sedative or a pain killer for the resultant headache that sometimes follows heavy stress." It's great for adrenal exhaustion and or the adrenials.
The other herbs I'm aware of that act that is cortisone are; Licorice root, Yucca Wild Yam, Licorice Root being the better. Licorice ACTS like a steroid, Cortisone is a steroid sugar. Licorice Rt. does not, however, bring the high insulin reaction that the sugar does. Some tea formulas use it as a sugar. (Wild Yam and Yucca have some steroid properties for those who cannot handle licorice root.) You've heard about this same hormone, cortisone, causing weight problems in many diet commershals.
There are many other such herbs on the earth. Remember all chemical are glorified, purified (shite), meaning drugs are deluded or concentrated to a white, to minute servings, and are crude chemicals which the body tolerates in lower levels. They do not leave all body's at the same rate, some are weaker in nature. These drugs will accumulate in our weakest spots in the body. Some are impossible to remove such as used cancer therapies that destroy the immune system and leach out the mineral of the body. Some herbal tea formulas use Lic. Rt. as a sweetener.Although it seems counter-intuitive, researchers at UCLA have been looking into licorice root extract to see if it may inhibit the growth of the bacteria that leads to tooth decay.
Licorice root is among those medicinal herbs that aren't true herbs (technically, herbs refer to dried leaves and/or grasses). The plant itself is actually a legume, related to beans and peas, and like other legumes, produces pods containing the seeds of the plant which can be boiled and eaten like any other bean. It is native to the Mediterranean region of Europe (it is a primary flavoring in the popular Greek liqueur known as ouzo) as well as parts of Asia. In the U.S., it is the predominant flavor of that unique American beverage, root beer.

HEALING POWERS OF PAPAYA (papaw)
Much more than a Stomach and Bowel Remedy;Try using Papaya (Papaw) if you have digestive problem (Stomach-bowels) Fruit as medicine! Papaya contains papain, a remarkable, protein-dissolving enzyme that eases many stomach ailments and is an exceptional aid to digestion. A rich source of minerals and vitamins A, C and E, papain also breaks down wheat gluten, which may be of great help those with Celiac disease. Papaya now falls under the non-organic fruits. To be affective it must be organic to heal..
The fruits, leaves, seeds and latex are all used medicinally. Papaya Fruit is eaten as a melon, included in salads and when unripe, it is cooked as a vegetable. The seeds are said to have a similar flavor as capers. The green fruit stems and leaves are a rich source of gummy, milky, white latex that contains the powerful enzyme, papain (in latex and exudates).
This protein-dissolving substance has not only been widely used for stomach and digestive disorders, but it is also included in commercial preparations as a meat tenderizer, chewing gum and as a stabilizing agent that is used to clarify beer. Some of the constituents included in Papaya Fruit are the fermenting agent myrosin, another important enzyme (chymopapain), butanoic acid, methyl butanoate, benzylglucosinolate, linalool, cis- and trans-linalool oxide,
alpha-linolenic acid, alpha-phellandrene, gamma-terpinene, 4-terpineol, terpinolene, methyl-thiocyanate and benzyl-isothiocyanate, rutin, resin, lycopene, malic acid, methyl salicylate, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, beta-carotene, B-vitamins and vitamins A, C and E.

Papaya
As an excellent treatment for digestive disorders and extremely useful for any disturbances of the gastrointestinal tract. Papain, the powerful enzyme in Papaya, helps to dissolve and digest protein, thus easing stomach ailments and indigestion. (Because papain breaks down tough meat fibers, it is often used in rstaurants and is the major ingredient in commercial meat tenderizers!) Papaya has been effective in easing heartburn and is given to treat dyspepsia and gastric catarrh. Papaya also stimulates the appetite.
Papaya's enzyme, papain, not only digests protein, but it extends its activity to digesting carbohydrate. Papain also breaks down wheat gluten, which may be helpful for those
suffering from Celiac disease. Those who have difficulty digesting starchy foods, such as breads, cereals and potatoes, might find great relief in including Papaya in their diets.
Papaya helps to settle a nervous and upset stomach and the queasy feelings often associated with travel and motion sickness. It has also been helpful in relieving morning
sickness.
The papain in Papaya is thought to relieve acute prostate Inflammation and may be very helpful in cases of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). Clinical studies in Russia found
that papain treatment reversed rectal lesions induced by extreme prostate enlargement in over 97 percent of the men reated.
Papaya is said to stimulate the bowels in times of constipation and is also believed to be useful in treating Inflammatory bowel disorders.
The SEEDS and the papain in unripe Papaya's gummy milk sap has been known to kill parasites by digesting them and has been used in herbal medicine to kill and expel worms. (Papaya has even been used or termite control.) Papaya's latex also works as a de-wormer
by its purgative actions, increasing the movement of intestinal contents.
(Use with honey and papapa seedsy for children) Remember all organically grown seeds kill parasites.
The investigate of papain in Papaya is currently undergoing studies. Its efficacy in treating the herpes simplex virus and herpes zoster (shingles).
Another papayan enzyme, chymopapain, has been used in the treatment of slipped spinal disc and pinched nerves.
Extracts of the pulp of Papaya Fruit have showed bacteriostatic properties when tested against Staphylococcus aureua, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Bacillus subtilis
and other bacteria in vitro.
Since many stomach problems are the direct result of indigestion, use of Papaya appears to help prevent many ailments. It stimuPlates digestive acids and the production of bile, which may also lead to a healthier liver and pancreas.
Papaya is said to have compounds that act as the female hormone, estrogen and has been used in folk medicine to promote milk production, facilitate childbirth and increase the female libido. In some parts of the world, it is used to induce menstruation and is considered a uterine stimulant.
In other cultures, Papaya has many medicinal applications. Such as, treatment of poisonous snakebites, Papaya helps to degrade the venom protein in the blood, thus losing its deadly strength. It is used topically to rid the pain of insect stings, and it is said that when applied to heal wounds It can digest dead tissue without affecting the surrounding live tissue. In Jamaica, the gummy latex of the unripe papaya fruit is slowly dripped onto warts and corns, shriveling them, and they fall off. The juice has been used as a facial wash to remove freckles. THE NEW DIET FAD... is organic papaya leave for weight. (Europe)

WILD EATABLE PLANTS, Nettles, mustard, dock and wild onion
How to cook stinging nettles
http://shermshappenins.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-to-cook-wild-herbs-stinging-nettles.html
My Mother was the first to teach me how to eat wild mustard greens. The way she made them was southern style and was so good. We never had to buy spinach, she knew the plants no matter where we lived. Oregon theirs a lot growing wild. Don't collect by traffic areas as they will have lead in the plants

ONE, DO NOT COLLECT ROOTS OF ANY WILD PLANT. THEY ARE MORE POWERFUL AND HAVE STRONGEST MEDICAL PROPERTIES.TWO, IF EVERYONE DID THIS, IT WOULD RAPE, PLUNGING THE LAND OF WILD HERBS. I AM FIGHTING THE HERBAL CO. TO STOP THIS PRACTICE, UNLESS THEY LEAVE THE SPOT WHERE THEY'VE COLLECTED WITH ANOTHER HERB SEED, ROOT IN ITS PLACE. THINK OF OTHERS.
Nettle root reduces the binding of testosterone to sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), resulting in lower levels of inactive “bound” testosterone and higher levels of active “free” testosterone .
INTERACTIONS:
Antidiabetic medicines: There is some evidence that nettle root can decrease blood sugar levels. Use with caution if you are on blood glucose lowering medications.
Antihypertensives: There is some evidence that nettle root can decrease blood pressure. Use with caution if you are on blood pressure lowering medications.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Nettle root extract is believed to work by numerous mechanisms to reduce benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP). Nettle root extract has been shown to inhibit the binding of SHBG to the prostate cell membrane. In addition to inhibiting SHBG binding, at least six constituents of Nettle root inhibit aromatase, reducing the conversion of androgen's to estrogen's. Nettle root has also been demonstrated to reduce the proliferation of BPH-tissue. Nettle root also has anti-inflammatory effects by reducing leukotriene and prostaglandin synthesis.
IINDICATIONS:
Nettle root has 5-alpha reductase enzyme blocking effects, and is therefore useful for problems associated with an enlarged prostate, such as frequent or difficult urination. Nettle root also binds to sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), thereby increasing levels of free testosterone. Free testosterone is essential for sexual arousal, heart health, immune function and maintenance of lean muscle mass. Nettle root also blocks aromatase enzymes, thereby reducing the conversion of testosterone into cancer forming estrogen's in men.
CNS depressants: There is evidence that nettle root extract might have CNS depressant activity and may potentate the effects of antidepressants.
Lithium: Nettle root is thought to have diuretic effects and might reduce excretion of lithium and this may lead to increased levels of lithium.
Warfarin: There is some concern that nettle root may decrease the anticoagulant effects of medicines such as warfarin. Dose adjustments of anti-coagulants may be required.
