Biscuit The Comfort Food

Grandmother's baking powder biscuit
I miss the way these biscuits taste (old fashion and not a lot of fat) I wrote it directly from her card in her language. I grew up on these comfort food the newer recipe just don't cut it. These can be made crunchy or not.
2 cups flour
3 level teaspoonful of baking powder
½ teaspoonful salt
1 heaping teaspoonful sugar
2 tablespoonful lard (shortening)
*Enough sweet milk to make a soft dough.
ALL INGREDIENTS SHOULD BE COLD
She always put shortening on the bottom of the baking pan dipped the top with some of its oil to form a crunchy crust with the biscuit dough. Then turn it over onto the on the same pan. This greased the top and bottom. Most grandmother's did this style and passed it onto the daughters. Bake until done or light brown on top. *(Add half n half, cream instead of water or milk or 2 tbl yogurt as a sub. for buttermilk.)
