WATERMELON LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE

Watermelon extract lowers blood pressure better than dangerous pharmaceuticals.
Researchers from Florida State University have published the result of a study in the American Journal of Hypertension that explains how natural watermelon extract helps reduce moderately elevated blood pressure by providing a rich source of the amino acids, citrulline and arginine, both known to relax vascular pressure.
NO GMO seedless melons or any fruit, and wash that melon with ACV to get off any toxic residues.

Even watermelon seed will work for blood pressure if you can find any. They've taken out the seeds in every fruit ("...the flowers, leaves, seeds, and roots is where the plants store their medicines'') It's done purposely to kept you dependent on Pharm/stock market

A Oregon Company, "Oregon’s Wild Harvest," grows, harvests and produces their own medicinal herbal products, many of which use the herbs grown on their certified Biodynamic® and Organic farm in Sandy, Oregon. I'm from Oregon and love their fresh plants grown near lava beds, however, I do not do free ads for anyone, and have never boughten from this company, so your own you own here. www.oregonswildharvest.com
Since Oregon grape (Mahonia spp.) is the state flower of Oregon, I thought it would be nice to spend a little time telling you about the Pacific Northwest's best kept secret.
This evergreen thrives here in the Great Northwest and grows deep in the coniferous forest. It likes shade and gets very little sun. Growing close to the ground, the conditions are very damp, where bacteria and fungus thrive. The leaves are sharp and very bitter. So, you would not find the deer eating them. The bark is yellow to yellow-green, and the roots are almost orange. Right under the bark, you will find a very yellow alkaloid, the primary bioactive agent of Oregon grape, called berberine. Berberine is the same alkaloid found in goldenseal, which is what also gives goldenseal its yellow color. Berberine has been traditionally used as an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory.Oregon grape also contains the alkaloids oxyacanthine and oxyberberine, which function similarly to berberine.
It has a long history of traditional use as a bitter, and helps to flush out the liver by stimulating the production of digestive enzymes and bile.
Oregon Grape Roots a nauseously bitter taste. This is an herb that can take place of Golden Seal, which was over picked in the wild,...exception is the diabetic part.
Oregon Grape Root can cure upset stomach, prevent and cure skin disorders, behave as a drying and warming agent, cure delirium, sanitize the internals by producing bile, manage Psoriasis and Syphilis, tonic Irritable Bowel Syndrome, clean up blood, cure depression and bad temper, cleanse the intestines, stimulate the thyroid glands and act as an astringent. They also have alternative, diuretic and emetic properties separated from being good for the stomach, gall-bladder and spleen. Patients suffering from diarrhoea and bacterial dysentery have nearly continually been talked about to have considerably benefit ted from consuming Oregon Grape Root for Constipation.
Oregon grape is considered the northwest's golden seal, having very similar qualities but at 25 percent the price. And, since golden seal is an endangered species (over-picked in the wild), Oregon grape is a secondary choice, in some instances as it can be found in good supply in the wild.

MILK THISTLE; wild herbal, bitters

Milk Thistle Health Benefits (seeds) RE: Wild edible herb plant series
http://www.wildfoodandrecipes.co.uk/p/wild-food-seasonal-calender-wild-food.htm Link to the time of year each herb grows in the wild...Handy if you are a gather of wild herbs.

Active Ingredients: Bitters (cnicine, Benedictine), flavonoids, triterpines, phytosterols, lignaloes, tannins, mucilage, resin, vitamins (A, B3), minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, chromium selenium), essential oil. Blessed Thistle herb and flowers contain: bitter substances of the sesquiterpene lactone type, probably occurring in glycosidic form; the principal active ingredient (0.2-0.7%) of the properly prepared dried plant material is a bitter tasting compound called cnicin, a sesquiterpene lactone or germacranolide isolated as far back as 1837.
The seed contains lignan lactones, such as trachelogenin, that also contribute to the bitterness of the herb. Lignans are phytoestrogen precursors for the key mammalian lignans: enterolactone and enterodiol that are present in humans and animals.
The plant also contains: up to 0.3% essential oil which includes n-paraffin (C-9 - C-13), aromatic aldehydes (cinnamaldehyde, benzaldehyde, cuminaldehyde); phenylpropanes; benzoic acid); monoterpenes (citronellol, fenchone, p-cymene, citral, and others); and flavonoids.

Side Effects:
Persons who are allergic to daisy family plants [Family. Asteraceae] may experience allergy symptoms to Blessed Thistle. High doses (over 5 grams of the herb per cup of infusion) may cause vomiting and diarrhea. The therapeutic dose is safe.

Overview:
Blessed Thistle is a low growing annual plant, up to 40cm, with Thistle-like appearance. Through its bitter properties, Blessed Thistle increases the flow of gastric juices helping with dyspepsia, indigestion, and headaches associated with liver congestion. British and German Pharmacopoeias recognize that 'bitters', including Blessed Thistle, stimulate bile flow and cleanse the liver. In Europe, Blessed Thistle, as a "bitter vegetable drug" is considered to be a medicinal agent used to stimulate appetite, aid digestion, and promote health. Studies confirm that bitters increase gastric juice and bile acid secretions by increasing the flow of saliva through stimulation of specific receptors on the mucous membrane lining of the mouth.
Traditionally in most countries, including England, Germany, Russia, China, India, and Africa, 'bitters' are used to strengthen and tonify the body. Blessed Thistle extracts also have anti-bacterial activity. Research on Blessed Thistle herb has demonstrated antibiotic properties for: 1) cnicin, 2) the essential oil, and 3) the polyacetylenes contained in the herb. The essential oil has bacteriostatic action and may help against Staphylococcus aureus, S. faecalis, but not E. coli. Research on Blessed Thistle has demonstrated that cnicin has considerable activity for stimulating cellular regeneration, detoxification, and cleansing. Cnicin also has antinflammatory activity.
Blessed Thistle may be used to stimulate secretion of saliva, increase appetite, and even facilitate digestion or stimulate the flow of bile. It has been used as a component in alternative remedies, and has antibacterial and anti fungal activity. (seeds are best)

Milk thistle is medicinally priced for supporting healthy liver function.

The "weed" I’m going to focus on today is milk thistle, as this herb has a long history of safe and effective medicinal use dating back thousands of years. Dioscorides, a first century Greek physician, gave milk thistle the name Silybum marianum. Silybum relates to a number of edible thistles and marianum honors the symbolic associations to the Virgin Mary.

The main part of the plant used in modern day herbal medicine is the seeds. Good quality seeds are black and shiny. This particular plant, native to the Mediterranean, was brought to the United States by the early settlers as a food source and also used for liver health. Milk thistle is now found growing wild in most parts of the United States as the North American Indians used this herb.

Numerous, very well-designed clinical trials have validated the therapeutic efficacy of milk thistle in improving and supporting healthy liver function. The German equivalent of the FDA considers milk thistle seeds as an acceptable treatment for liver health.

If you are taking a pharmaceutical drug, drinking a little too much, or have been exposed to environmental toxins, you may just want to provide that poor, over-worked liver with a little nutritional support. Milk thistle is an excellent choice.

Health Benefits, Liver Disease, After the fall; God gave weeds to torment man, however theirs always the blessing too, toward healthful uses.

Wild Harvest Herbs grows, harvests and produces their own medicinal herbal products, many of which use the herbs grown on their certified Biodynamic® and Organic farm in Sandy, Oregon http://www.oregonswildharvest.com  (I like their biodynamic farming technique's.) I've lived in Oregon and like the lava soil and weather there to grow any crops.

The most common so-called weeds may just be what we all need to be eating on a daily basis to restore or to maintain health.

These plants grow and flourish on this earth not only to provide us with a source of food, but also as a means to heal our bodies. So the next time you see someone spraying an herbicide on dandelion, plantain, burdock or milk thistle, take a moment and think: Why are these plants so tough? Why do they keep coming back year after year? Why have these plants all been here for thousands of years? You can find these plants growing everywhere—even out of the cracks of cement on busy highways. The movement of the GMO spraying may interfer with this for our children and plants nutrients and there procreation may be altered.

Read more on a great way to raise herbs/plants: http://www.oregonswildharvest.com/biodynamic_farm/biodynamic_history

You will need; tincture
¼ cup of
Cinnamon
1/8 cup of Cloves Cloves (or Cardamon if you dislike Cloves)
¼ cup of Gentian
1/8 cup of
Ginger
1/8 cup of Orange Peel
1/8 cup of Milk Thistle
1 bottle of Vodka (750 ml) (shorter shelf life use ACV)
The scientific approach to making this is to extract each herb individually according to the correct alcohol/water mixture. However, for the sake of simplicity, here is a short-cut that will suffice:

Open bottle of vodka and remove one cup to make space for the herbs
Add the herbs to the vodka using a funnel
Replace the lid
Shake thoroughly for 1 minute
Allow to steep for at least 2 weeks- shake on a daily basis
After 2 weeks, you will notice that the vodka has changed color; Strain the herbs from the liquid and discard them
Return the liquid to the bottle
Cocktail time! Replace in any recipe using Angustora bitters, or create your own. Do your research too, this herb may have to be so old...Burdock does and ginsing i.e.

INSOMNIA NATURES REMEDIES

Insomnia Remedies
Note: do not use citrus fruit, or juice before bed time. It will keep you away.
It can be frustrating to wake up at three in the morning and not be able to go back to sleep or lay awake until you finally fall asleep. This is often debilitating, and an increasingly common condition:Insomnia affects about 15 to 20 percent of the population at any one time. The causes are many, and range from temporary stress, anxiety, ongoing chronic problems, or, a bad mattress, uncomfortable bedroom, bad mate and difficulties, life changes or lifestyles.
Insomnia can manifest itself in three ways: difficulty falling asleep, inability to stay asleep, and waking too early. I have added on other post many more herbs that could make this post longer but to keep it short will refrain from doing so. (Catnip: for small children, see: Lobelia tincture i.e.)

Chamomile: is a traditional herb used to treat insomnia.Herbal remedies are ideal for many, because few of them interfere with medications. The following supplements have been known to assist in relaxation and the ability to sleep soundly. They should be taken about 45 minutes before bedtime no earlier.

Valerian: Valerian is used as an effective and gentle sleep aid for the relief of occasional sleeplessness. Its said to take 900 mg of the dried herb prior to bedtime. Start with a low dosage and build up over a couple of weeks. Check the label
Chamomile: Chamomile has traditionally been used in herbal medicine as a calmative and/or sleep aid. Take two teaspoons of the dried herb in tea, one to three times daily. Take the herbs together for an increased effect of relaxation.

Skullcap: Skullcap is a traditional nervine, or an herb that has a relaxing effect on the central nervous system. Skullcap is also a complementary herb that works very well with other herbs. Take 1200 mg 45 minutes before bedtime.

Ashwagandha: Ashwagandha is a traditional Ayurvedic (Indian) herb used for calming the mind and promoting regular sleep patterns. Some take 1200 mg daily before bedtime. Take with milk for MAY improved absorption.

Watch these three: A lack of nutrients can sometimes cause insomnia. Nutrients often needed are calcium, magnesium and vitamin B6 and vitamin B1 (niacin).
Calcium: Take 500 mg with food before going to bed.
Magnesium: Take 250 mg with food before going to bed. Take the calcium and magnesium together; they are sometimes sold as a single supplement.
Vitamins B6 and B1: Take 50 mg B6 and 500 mg niacin taken together before going to bed.

• Stick to a regular sleep schedule. Go to bed and get up at the same time, regardless of the day of the week or whether you've slept.
Avoid alcohol, caffeine and tobacco.• Have a leisurely bath with several drops of lavender oil before going to bed.
• Put a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow.
• Have a bedtime drink of hot milk and honey.• Do not take commercial sleeping remedies at the same time as herbal remedies.
• Exercise regularly—try forty minutes walking four times a week.
Insomnia can be a temporary but troubling problem; but remember that it can also be a symptom of a medical condition requiring treatment. If insomnia persists for more than a few weeks, be sure to consult your health care provider.
Lastly, check your herbs and or medications for side-effect that maybe interfering with sleep.
With the help of Valerian, Chamomile, Astragulas, Ashwagandha, Mata tea or Skullcap and a relaxing bedtime ritual, sleep should come more easily. When it does, a rested, replenished, restored sense of being can return. Their are herbs that are not organic and will not work as well. Get PLANTS AND SEEDS from a reliable source.
PASSION FLOWER
Sleep Disorders:***With over 20 years of experience in the field of sleep medicine, Dr. Robert Rosenberg , discussed the science of sleep, and the various causes of insomnia. He also addressed some of the bizarre disorders people experience while they are sound asleep-- not only sleepwalking but eating, having sex, and even driving. Medications like Ambien can cause amnesia, he said, and in some cases people's "central pattern generators" are activated in the brain stem, so that they're able to perform complex motor functions such as driving a car, "even though on electroencephalograms they're in slow wave sleep."

People who suffer from depression or anxiety often have insomnia, he reported. Other contributing factors to insomnia include overuse of electronic devices (sometimes associated with work) in the bedroom, excessive ruminations and worrying, and lack of regular exercise, he detailed. Sleep serves a variety of important functions including the production of growth hormone, and the brain cleaning itself of toxins. It's been found that taking a power nap (20-30 minutes) can provide a person with 2 hours of alertness, Dr. Rosenberg reported. Melatonin supplements can be effective in helping a person get to sleep, as well as various types of audio (white noise, binaural beats), and aromatherapy (lavender), USE UNDER PILLOW?
for depression use Kava Kava

CALM DOWN (FORSKOHLII)

Coleus forskohlii (CALMING HERB)
Each fat burner's work differently for you. Be sure to add only one at a time. Use the whole bottle to judge its effectiveness, everyone so different. This one is calming to me but I lost no weight? Brand, too cheap, too many fillers, I don't know, but it was calming which I needed. It it worth the money? This was introduced on the Dr. Oz TV show, however, remember his staff has to always come up with new herbal weight introductions to keep him on the air, most of the time they've simply not worked for me anyways. But ,I do my research more than his staff for sure and I pass on what I've found in my opinion.

This "power" herb has an active ingredient in it called forskolin. It has been used in ayruvedic medicine for many years. Forskolin's basic mechanism of action is that it increases the amount of cyclic AMP (adenosine monophosphate) in cells by activating an enzyme called adenylate cyclase. Cyclic AMP (cAMP) is one of the most important secondary messengers in the cell. It is considered to be one of the most important cell regulating compounds.
Under normal circumstances, cAMP forms by adenylate cyclase activation due to hormonal stimulation at the cell receptor site. However, forskolin seems to bypass this reaction and allows for an increase in intracellular cAMP to occur. Why is it important to increase cAMP levels?

Well, there are several benefits of this to athletes including relaxation of the arteries and smooth muscles, lowering blood pressure, enhanced insulin secretion (which can help drive carbohydrates and protein into muscle cells for energy and recovery), increased thyroid hormone function (which can help enhance metabolic rate), and significantly increase lipolysis (fat burning). Forskolin also seems to benefit other cellular enzymes as well.

The breakdown of fat for fuel (lipolysis) is actually regulated by cAMP. Forskolin has been shown to not only enhance lipolysis but it may also inhibit fat storage from occurring. This is very good news for individuals trying to lose body fat and get lean. Another way that forskolin may allow for fat loss to occur is by stimulating thyroid hormone production and release. Thyroid hormone controls metabolism and can enhance metabolic rate, which may translate into more fat loss.

One of the overlooked benefits of forskolin includes its stimulation of digestive enzymes, which can allow individuals to digest and assimilate their food better. It has been shown to increase nutrient absorption in the small intestine.

Forskolin has been shown to be safe and effective and has a great amount of potential as a sports supplement?  (As with most dietary supplements, more human research is needed but the future looks bright for this compound.
Organic heals so much better and faster but not GMO plants, including;  chemically treated, grown in polluted soil or altered in anyway.

I just took one of my norm herbs that I've purchased before from the same company and it didn't work. The last batch did. Why?  I ordered from Swanson's a cheap herbal vitamin co. However, that alone doesn't guarantee that HFStores expensive brands will be any better product. The "fillers" in these products delude the main ingredient and will interfere with its effectiveness.)
